Keyless is something I always wanted to install on the 8V, but I heard is not possible, so that's what I actually believed in. (for some reason)
And since I do not own an 8V, I had no car to test on.
But one of my good customers who bought an RS3 8V WITHOUT Keyless would let me use his car for testing if this was possible.
So, after a lot of research, I agreed to actually give this a try to see if it is possible to do this retrofit most people say is impossible.
The Keyless Go / Entry needs many antennas in the car, new sensors in the door handles, and even a new MMI panel with the Start button.
Installing the hardware was pretty straightforward, as it was done according to the original diagrams.
But then it was time for the coding and to actually make everything work...
That was pretty challenging, and at one point, I was about to give up.
But since it is not in my nature to give up, I had to complete this.
After about 16 hours, the system was finally working.
Everything was coded in, and one of the most extraordinary things is that I could use the newer types of keys as the 8V key feels really old.
A small video of the transformation is also posted on Youtube.
A similar job costs 22.000:- SEK and is ONLY possible in my workshop in Vellinge, Sweden.
